A Stop TB Canada Webinar - Our progress & vision for impact

As you might know, we have been working hard to reinvigorate the Stop TB Canada Network! During this webinar we explored progress made to date and began to build a shared vision for 2021. You will hear from new members of our steering committee and attendees who were invited to raise their voices to shape the network's 2021 work plan and priorities!

During the webinar, we asked the attendees two questions. Here are some of their responses:

1. What are priority topics related to TB that are important for Stop TB Canada to focus on in 2021?

  • Bridging the gap between Indigenous issues in Canada and global issues related to TB

  • Increase community engagement for Indigenous communities and vulnerable population

  • Review linkages between investment in COVID diagnostic investments, for example, to long term TB delivery capacity/outcomes

  • Broaden the chorus of Canadian advocates working for policy wins and resourcing to address TB in Canada and around the world

2. What type of events or activities would you like to see from the STop TB Canada network in 2021?

  • To organize collaborative discussions among leaders, stakeholders, and TB affected people (Advocate?) to improve local, regional, and national surveillance

  • Have the network secure and disburse funds to support community-led activities in Canada

  • A national conference with good diversity of voice and sessions

  • Advocacy and demand generation for new TB tools

We look forward to working with you on these action items in 2021!
