Send a Message of Hope this World TB Day

At Stop TB Canada, we believe in the power of compassion and community. This World TB Day, we invite you to send a message of hope and support to someone undergoing tuberculosis treatment.

Why Your Message Matters

Living with TB can feel isolating and overwhelming. The treatment process, often lasting six months or longer, can be a difficult journey. Our goal is to show people affected by TB that they are not alone, and that stigma has no place in the fight against TB. A kind, thoughtful message can make all the difference.

How You Can Get Involved

  1. Send an Anonymous Message

Write a brief message of encouragement and compassion to anyone affected by TB on our online RecoCards Board. Your message will posted on our website and shared with healthcare providers across Canada, who can display them in their offices.

  2. Send a Personalized Letter

Want to make a deeper connection? Write a personal letter to someone going through TB treatment by downloading and completing this template and sending your message to hello@stoptbcanada.com. You can include the option to exchange letters or even become a pen-pal for a bit of extra support. If you choose to share a return address, we’ll ensure it’s delivered directly to the patient through a trusted physician, keeping your information confidential.

What to Write

When someone is feeling unwell, they might not have the energy for long letters, even with the best intentions. Keep it simple, positive, and encouraging. Here are some examples of messages that could brighten someone’s day:

  • "I’m thinking of you this very minute. Hope you can feel it—and feel better soon."

  • "Take time to take care of yourself. Hope you bounce back soon!"

  • "When I heard you were sick, it made me feel a little worse too. Hoping you feel better quickly."

  • "Wishing you good health—and sending you healing vibes and hugs. Feel better soon!"

This World TB Day, take a moment to send some positivity and encouragement to those navigating TB treatment. Your words can offer comfort, remind them they are not alone, and reaffirm that together, we can end TB for everyone.
