Ultra-lightweight portable chest X-ray and AI for TB screening

The union.png

It is estimated around one quarter of the world population is infected by tuberculosis (TB). The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared they aim to reach 30 million people with TB preventive treatment by 2022.

This webinar introduces the effectiveness of a new and innovative tuberculosis screening: using ultra-lightweight portable chest X-ray and AI assistance. The chest X-ray imaging of tuberculosis allows screening in inaccessible, rural areas in high TB prevalent countries, to reach the previously unreached population, and close the gap of TB-detection. This webinar is aimed at health professionals interested in TB and TB screening globally.

Moderated by Ms. Kaho Kameyama, FUJIFILM Corporation. The panelists will include:

  • Dr. Grania Brigden, Director TB Department, International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, who will provide opening remarks.

  • Dr. Teiji Takei, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Japan, on the country's support on the portable chest X-ray and AI for TB.

  • Ms. Kinz ul Eman from the DOPASI Foundation in Pakistan, will present the experience on portable X-ray imaging for TB screening in their country.

  • Mr. Yusuke Kodama, from Japan, will speak from the point of view of a TB survivor.

  • Mr. Mahasaru Morita, FUJIFILM Corporation, will talk about Fujifilm's contribution to chest X-ray screening with AI for TB.
